Education Board Overview
Overview of the BVIUK Education Board (EB)
BVIUK takes pride in its global standing as a leader in advancing the business valuation profession. It provides unparalleled access to educational resources, creates professional networking opportunities, and promotes the exchange of knowledge to raise industry standards and enhance professional expertise.
At the heart of this mission lies the BVIUK Education Board (EB), which exists to support the organisation by offering expert insights and guidance on educational matters. The EB helps ensure that BVIUK remains at the forefront of thought leadership in business valuation by providing perspectives on key trends and opportunities. Its role is consultative, designed to complement the organisation’s strategic direction as determined by the Executive Management (EM).
The Board Leader and Members are elected by the Executive Management for a two-year term. These individuals are selected based on their expertise, professional standing, and ability to contribute meaningfully to BVIUK’s educational goals.
The Education Board works collaboratively with Executive Management, Members, and stakeholders from the valuation community, including academics, the judiciary, regulators, and legislative bodies. This collaboration serves to inform BVIUK’s educational initiatives while respecting the authority of the CEO and Executive Management to make final decisions.
By welcoming input from industry experts, the Education Board contributes to identifying emerging trends, enhancing knowledge-sharing, and strengthening connections across the profession. The EB’s contributions are provided when requested, ensuring alignment with BVIUK’s priorities and strategic goals.
Responsibilities, Meetings, and Reporting
The BVIUK Education Board works under the direction of the organisation’s Executive Management, providing input on educational initiatives as required. Its activities are designed to enhance the organisation’s mission without taking on a decision-making role.
The Education Board is required to hold regular meetings once a month at a scheduled time. These meetings provide a platform for discussion and collaboration and are open to Executive Management to ensure transparency.
To ensure accountability, the Leader of the Education Board delivers periodic updates to Executive Management and prepares an annual report on the Board’s contributions. This report is published in “The Valuer”, BVIUK’s annual journal, showcasing the Board’s input and reflecting BVIUK’s commitment to advancing excellence in business valuation education.
Any work produced by BVIUK Board or Policy Council Members as part of their assignments during their term shall remain the intellectual property of BVIUK, with BVIUK retaining all rights to its use, reproduction, and distribution for commercial or non-commercial purposes.
