Standards & Ethics Board Leader Role Overview
Leader of the Standards and Ethics Oversight Board (SEOB)

The Leader of the Standards and Ethics Oversight Board (SEOB) plays a pivotal role in ensuring that BVIUK’s ethical and professional standards are upheld and consistently monitored.
Appointed by BVIUK’s Executive Management (EM) for a two-year term, the Leader oversees the Board’s activities and ensures that its contributions align with the organisation’s values and objectives.

As the primary point of accountability for the SEOB, the Leader is responsible for guiding the work of the Board, including reviewing investigations, facilitating impartial discussions, and addressing matters related to BVIUK’s Standards and Ethics. The Leader works collaboratively with SEOB members to develop fair and transparent resolutions to issues brought before the Board, safeguarding the credibility and integrity of its processes.

The Leader collaborates closely with BVIUK’s Executive Management, providing regular updates on the Board’s activities, including its contributions and recommendations. Additionally, the Leader is tasked with preparing an annual report on the Board’s work, which is published in BVIUK’s journal, The Valuer. This report provides members with insights into the Board’s key actions, decisions, and overall contribution to maintaining the organisation’s high standards.

This role requires strong leadership, exceptional organisational skills, and a commitment to upholding the principles of ethical governance and professional excellence within the business valuation profession. The Leader’s work is integral to BVIUK’s reputation as a trusted authority in the industry.
