In today's post Magdalena Antrobus interviews Nick Talbot about International Valuation Standards Council. Nick worked in various senior client facing and internal roles at EY and KPMG between 1998 and 2011, before joining the professional body RICS as a Director with global responsibilities. In 2015 Nick was asked to become interim CEO of IVSC and lead a restructure which he did before being offered the full time CEO role by the IVSC Board of Trustees in 2016.
MA: Hi Nick. First of all, could you talk a little bit about IVSC and what are the key philosophies behind the organisation?
NT: IVSC is an international not-for-profit organisation which champions the importance of valuation as a key component of the financial system. We would like to see International Valuation Standards (IVS) across all asset classes used in every country in the world, and encourage the evolution of a high quality, ethical and respected profession.
